Bring in the big guns!

I've finally gotten round to finishing a few things for my Imperial guard armour. Largely started to be used as allies for my space wolves I'm keeping light on infantry and heavy on vehicles. The next thing I intend to add is some air support as this is an area that the space wolves are sorely lacking, they prefer to fight with their feet firmly on the ground as Russ intended after all. A Vendetta squadron or two is looking very tempting :D

But for now we have the finest armour the guard can provide. Starting with that work horse of the forty first millennium the Leman Russ.

This is the 3rd Tank, of A company, of the Valhallan 42nd armoured, the 'Ice Bears'.

And secondly some serious fire power in the form of a shadow sword / Storm lord / Well its all magnetised so take your pick :P.

This is the 1st tank of the Valhallan 32nd super heavy tank regiment.

Next up is a likely to be a unit of veterans with a vendetta to get them around, along with a commisar this will make the force legal as an allied detachmrnt for normal 40k games, minus the shadow sword of course.

Thanks for looking and happy wargaming.

Roll out.

Bar finishing the bases (and the eyes on the last daemon smith which I noticed looking at the pics I missed) the artillery train is ready to roll out.

Thanks for looking,

Fire!

The last of this shipment from Zharr Nagrund is about to ship out! The magma cannons are done, just waiting for the last of the glue and paint to fully cure before they get a protective coat of matt varnish. One Daemon smith and a few bases to go before this party is ready to march!

Thanks

Its magma hot.

Still things to be done but the cannons are nearly ready to roll out of Zharr Nagrunds daemon forges and be unleashed on the weakling southerners.

The magma vats plus the crewmen who man them plus a few little other bits still be to be done but nearly ready for battle.

Thanks

Shrieking death

The shrieker is ready for a coat of matt varnish to protect the paint work then the base of the spotter can be finished off.

This kit was great to work with, the interaction of the crew really adds to the model. The spotter seems to be calling out targeting information or just plain having an argument with his fellow Dawi Zharr.

And the first magma cannon is nearly ready to be primed just waiting for the glue to thoroughly cure as this had a minor miscast in one of the supports that runs the whole length of the model.

These models are lovely but also really good value, especially when you consider they are cheaper than a Games workshop hell cannon.....

Thanks for looking and happy gaming!

zharr naggrund's finest. . .

Always fun when a forgeworld box arrives :D The forges of zharr naggrund will soon unleash another batch of hellish engines of war. . .

Release agent cleaned off, ready for cleaning up and assembley. 3 Daemon smiths, one shrieker rocket and 2 magma cannons.

And some very slow progress on my guard allies for my wolves. . . Camo sorted with first stage of weathering done, starting basecoating the metal work plenty still to do.

Thanks for reading, and happy gaming.

The spring thaw.

Well after a little break I'm determined to get at least one of my armies painted in the near future, which will likely be my Empire as they are relatively close to completion. To get back into the swing of things I've polished off the raging heroes lord which I started last year and finally got some paint on my death company which where bought when the codex came out. . . I'm aiming to have half a company of blood angels painted along with my Empire before the end of the summer. We shall see if I'm able to stop myself bouncing around other bits and pieces. . .

Well a few shots to get back into the swing of things. . .

Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost.

 And the lost. . .
