A quick foray into the forest

Well with Dark vengeance and the campaign I'm taking part in taking a break for it these gents have been alittle forgotten, but no more! Just a small update but Hoping to really pick the pace up on these guys now that the school runs and my time in between has settled down.

Let the gods of Chaos rise

The first full week of the kids back at school and finally some regular painting time! So on with the products of this time. Some pics have been edited more than others, I'm trying to get the right lighting sorted which will hopefully lead to better photos.

First up some bearers of plague... Lovely models and a pleasure to paint.

A side by side here with and then without "auto fix" as I said I'm trying to avoid needing this by sorting my lighting as the results can be a tad hit and miss....

 

Next up two units of cultists,

And finally a unit of chosen with a somewhat Nurgle feel to them.

Sphinx high jinks.

I've had this for over a year and with the warsphinx parts finally done I'm calling it done, I no longer play the army and have already sold off the majority of it so the Necrosphinx parts will remain undone. But the War sphinx is there and placed a respectable 2nd in a local painting competition, its now time for him to move onto another home.

Being uber fragile the crew aren't currently glued which is why they seem to be falling over up there :p

Back to school hell.

I am sure many parents think like I did, that the kids going back to playgroup and starting school would leave me with more free time to paint.....
No it is meerly a lull before the storm of organisational chaos. So although I have been able to paint its been 20 minutes here before a pickup, an hour there after a drop off.... I can't wait for the new schedule to settle down so I can get some serious painting done.

But on with the few things I have manged to get done. The plague brute is finished! But is currently in the cabinet at my local store (Eastbourne) and I neglected to take any photos....

I do however have some Chaos related work to show yay! A little progress on the Drakwald front, a nearly completed assault squad for my Blood angels and a quick and dirty smurf squad out of spare bits for ebay....



I HATE Empire crossbowmen, I have never seen so many mould lines on one kit..... and all that wood surface area with ZERO texture..... I'm dreading painting the rest and i am now glad the army only has 19 in it.

Actually two 5 man additions to two separate squads will get these finished and get some pics of the lot up, nearly got half a company done now :D

 Words can not express how much fun these where to paint. Lovely models.
 

  

Not exactly the most earth shattering squad ever but they were quick and built out of spares left over from my wolves so can;t complain I suppose.

Well this post has been a tad schizophrenic but reflects my schedule the last week! Once the dust from new school runs etc settles I am hoping to seriously increase the amount of painting I do, heres hoping.

The colour of plague.

Well the big brute is nearly there, still a few things to do but I'm quite happy with how he's coming along. I need to get a half decent light box setup to get better pictures in general, hes a little darker than the pictures would lead you to be believe.

I'm a little concerned that he may have a little to much going on so may scale back the amount of mutation on the next nurgley thing.

A pandemic it is.

Two updates in one day, "Ambassador your spoiling us", someone find me a ferrero rocher :D


That's pretty much all the greenstuff work done I think. Having said that I may well end up fiddling with it a bit more lol. I'm going to build up the rust patches with one or maybe two extra layers of pva and  fine sand and onto paint :D

I'm using a plague bearer as a test model for the colour scheme (he's lurking in the back of some of the pics) and will hopefully have him done tonight.
